Kansas City Chiefs fans finally had the opportunity to snag tickets for the team’s Nov. 5 game against the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany.
They just had to get up at 5 a.m. to grab them.
Members of Chiefs Kingdom who registered with the NFL could buy tickets that went on sale at noon in Germany, which is 7 hours ahead of Kansas City. Fans reading this now have already slept in too late.
Sports Illustrated reports that those face-value tickets sold out in just 15 minutes.
Tickets at Deutsche Bank Park ranged from $80 to $250. Now, Chiefs fans will have to turn to an uncertain and now, literally foreign, resale market if they hope to see quarterback Patrick Mahomes battle his former teammate, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, this fall.
Official resale won’t begin on Ticketmaster on July 12. Tickets are expected to be much more expensive than the prices listed above. According to the NFL, Ticketmaster Resale is the only authorized resale site.
Some secondary market sites like Vivid Seats already have tickets up for sale, the cheapest of which are running for over $500, and the most expensive are listed at well over $3,000.
Chiefs-Dolphins is one of two NFL games being played in Germany this year. The other was the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts the following week, Nov. 12.
