Jamaica Standard Products Company, Limited (JSP) has been owned and operated by the Minott family for over 68 years, and continues its tradition of setting the bar for the rest of the coffee industry in Jamaica. From the planting and roasting of the coffee, to the packaging of all the products, every step of production is meticulously inspected. JSP is certified by the government owned Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica (CIB), and together with the most modern equipment and the efforts of a devoted and experienced staff, JSP has earned the honor of being a leader in the coffee industry of Jamaica.
The company is headed by Jackie and John O. Minott (father and son), and both generations proudly assume the responsibility for upholding the tradition and growth of JSP. "My vision was that JSP would be a company that would represent Jamaica in the very best light", and John O. shares this vision. JSP continues to grow, and will soon introduce their Blue Baron Estate® Jamaica Blue Mountain® Coffee. Their work force consists of "between the main office, the factory, the farms, and the stores" over 150 permanent employees, and more than 500 pickers employed every year (seasonally) during the harvest time.
Jamaica Standard Products may have started with the cultivation and production of their world renown coffees, but today also produces a celebrated coffee liqueur from its Baronhall Estate®, a line of genuine Jamaican sauces and spices from Baronhall Farms®, and owns 5 retail stores between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Many years of hard work have gone into the success of JSP, but as John O. Minott is quick to add "we have had and continue to have much support from many good people. Jamaica Standard Products is truly a company built by the efforts of many... and we are very grateful".
